With the new version of W4 BPM Suite, it will be possible henceforth to create business applications combining two key technologies : ECM and BPM

Amongst the critical information necessary for enterprise management, electronic documents are omnipresent throughout various departments who are furthermore required to rethink their management plan around business processes. At Documation 2007 we announced our strategy for managing information found within enterprise documents.

The future advancements of EDM (Electronic Document Management) and ECM (Enterprise Content Management) will be prevalent in the upcoming improved features of the software package W4 BPM Suite.

Along with a wide, fortified network base including the major EDM distributors found on the market today, W4 is uniquely positioned as the sole providor of a unified offer that opens up document content otherwise closed as if it were stuck in a Silo. This type of content availability is possible on account of global processes associated with the document. This approach facilitates enterprise management and production in conformance with business and without isolated breakdowns that may occur due to technical restraints.

Thus, the user can easily access referenced documents with the level of functionality needed to complete his/her task. Classical document management features are present (navigation menus, check-in - check-out ...), however they are linked to a task environment. The objective of this approach is to propose a simplified contextual access to users of the new version of W4 BPM Suite for mission critical documents at the very heart of their business applications.

Using the modelling tool W4 Studio, the administrator may easily indicate the access path to indexes of EDM and ECM systems (connections are possibile with existing systems). He/she may also manage specified rights of access according to user profiles. The users thus have defined access for consulting or checking in or out documents.

The new version of « W4 BPM Suite 2006-R1 » will be on the market in the summer of 2007 after having passed the Beta testing version.
