Processes have always existed in human activity: from the way in which we make our bed to the construction of a rocket, we systematically follow a process in a conscious or unconscious manner for different operations.
When it comes to business activities, processes have become important since the division of labour in the 18th century. This emphasised their importance and they are thus regarded as a source of wealth. Since then, we have deepened our knowledge and identified their importance in production in parallel with that of sharing information and after the acronym CIO (Chief Information Officer), CPO (Chief Process Officer) emerged. With total quality programmes and the emer-gence of IT tools, work methods have evolved rapidly. Once the tools which assist different employees in the performance of different tasks have been put in place, there is no dialogue between them and passing from one application to another for the accomplishment of the same task does not provide the desired visibility and the tools do more harm than good.

Before answering this question, let’s take a look at what American analysts have said: Forrester Research recognized our software solution as being a “strong performer” in the category of “Human-Centric BPM, Q4 2007”.
